Burger King...Burger bottom 28/02-06

Burger King...What a lousy place... Yesterday I proudly presented the big kids menus you get in the fast food restaurants. That's not the case at Burger king. Here you get absolutely nothing and you even have to pay for refilling your coke.

School:
Today we had a lecture about social responsibility with a woman named Kellie. It was very interesting. We are having another lecture with her where we will look at some case studies. This time we heard about CSR in general and how it is absorbed by society.

Living:
We got the appartment today but can't move in before tomorrow since we weren't able to withdrawl the money we needed for the deposit. There is a limit sat by the danish bank for daily withdrawls which is 1/4 of what we needed.. Hopefully I will have a solution tomorrow!

Bustrip, Jack in the box and a dog in the room 27/02-06

The houdini group on the way home from meeting Kao.

What a Bandit.. hehe

A bum in da bus

Don't understand jack in da box here. If you order regular meals you get regular burger, oversized coke and hardly any fries. If you than order a kids meal you get as you can see a medium coke compared to denmark, hardly any chicken stripes an loads of fries...wierd!
And the best.... Ranch/Buttermilk sauce...lots of it :o)

Ended the evening with two small sweet dogs in the room

John Kao 27/02-06

A member from the houdini group has made a houdini and might be joining th Bandits soon...We greet him.
FREE ALL BANDITS....

Met John Ka(ka)o today. Interesting guy. He has alot of cool things going on. Next week we will meet him again where he will tell us about his different innovation tools. The Bandits are thinking about using the tools for the project.

John has an assistent/graphic recorder (Lesley) who is writing his presentation down in a very nice artistic way.

Kao taught us a good thing.. The difference between creativity and innovation: everyone can learn how to be creative but innovation happens when you have a context and a purpose.

Harry and Ann Filer 26/02-06

Today I went to visit Harry and Ann Filer. Helene from team 12 hooked me up with them trough her dad who used to go to school with Harry in Berkley back in the days.
They came to pick me up at the hostel and we drove to see their house in Belmonte half an hour away from frisco. We had a nice dinner and talked alot about american culture vs the danish.

I found my future car and tried to make plans with Ann in order for her to sell it to me at some point.. :o)

Hockey gold and a trip to Glide church 26/02-06

Pär and I started the day early with watching the Ice hockey finale between Sweden and Finland. Good game with the right winner. I felt swedish.. ;o)

After that we went to a gospel church called Glide church. Cool experience where you get to hug the people around you and stand up and sing. They had some very talented singers and a great live band.

Birthday in the Golden Gate park 25/02-06

Today we went to Golden Gate park to celebrate mettes birthday. The whole class had a fun day with games, soda and birthday cake. There is a really exciting atmosphere in the park with everything from kids playing around to a group of people playing drums all day. On my way home I bought a visored beanie.

Monster draw 24/02-06

We went to monster draw. It is a gathering where lots of artist meet and draw for a whole night. They sell the drawings for 50 dollars a piece. Here is some of the good work and a picture of the group. We brought Sebastian from canada as well. He lives at the hostel and is the guy we use to play basket with.

The drawings in black and white are made by Heather sparks. She was very good. She took her drawings and copied them on top of each other.

On the way home we saw some cool graffiti on a wall next to the bus stop.

We finished the evening with a visit at a shushi restaurant. Good place to eat.

Presidio 24/02-06

Today we went to presidio with the class to have a lecture about the silicon valley and how it has developed through the dot.com period. That was very interesting. To get there we took the bus but we ended up switching busses 4 times cause we were told it was the easiest thing to do.
Here I am with Esther on the way home with a free shuttle which went directly from presidio and home... should have known on the way out!

CSR companies 23/02-06

Today Henrik and I went to visit the Taproot foundation and Kickstart which are both companies that work in the same area as we are. They are making money on helping the world become a better place. Taproot by connecting pro consultancies with NGOs and Kickstart with providing a tool for plesants in africa in order to make them make money when they harvest.

Date Auction 22/02-06

Espen and I went to a date auction. It was held by a latino student union and they had about 16 persons up for the auction. The bidding started at 10 dollars and if you were to be the lucky winner you would get two tickets for a big party the following night. The first couple of persons were sold for about 15 dollars but in the end the bidding ended at 185 dollars for a date with an average looking girl... maybe it was her singing that convinced people.

Anders Fogh project part 3, 22/02-06

We thought it would be nice for Anders to take a bath...

...Look at the view from the windows of a large consultancy firm called Hewitt. We visited Hewitt to see if they would be interested in coorporating in another school project.

Bike 22/02-06

Henrik and I bought a bike each for 50 dollars. And when we leave in three month we have made a deal with the hostel so they will buy the bikes from us for 50 dollars each. So that is very nice!
It is so cool to have a bike here. You get around alot more. And most of the hills you can actually go around if you change your route.

Today we went to San Francisco university and golden gate park on the bikes.

Helping a homeless 21/02-06

The Houdini group went to Jack in the box to have a late night snack. Look closely at the picture... you might only get this one chance to see the group together...
At JITB there were a really annoying homeless guy who kept asking us for our food while we were eating. That is really not allowed and usually restaurants will ask them to leave. We gave hime some fries and finally he left. It felt wierd because you know he needs your help but it didn't feel comfortable to help him when he was standing next to your table begging you.

On our way out I decided to have a free refill on my coke and give it to a nice homeless guy outside. He was very happy. I asked him if he was going to drink it and he answered that he would as fast as he had earned enough money to get a 1 dollar hamburger. So far he had no money so I gave him that dollar and he gave me a picture to remind me.

Bears 21/02-06

Nothing better than supporting BEARS.

Anders Fogh project part 2, 21/02-06

Today we went to Oakland to se our temporary classroom. On the Bart passing the neighborhood where the room was located Henrik mentioned that it looked a little like a black neighborhood. So we decided to give Anders a chance to meet a local and he turned out to be very nice.

Later we went to Berkley university. It is such a nice area with loads of exciting things going on.

At CAL Berkley they had a military camp on campus and Anders got yet another interesting perspectice on things around him.

Going back to San Fran this time by bus. Anders is looking at the beautiful view.

It was a very interesting bustrip. The busdriver was about to run a girl down and she seemed very stressed. It turned out that she was very nice and I had a fun conversation with her about understanding the bus scedule which created a really good vibe and people were laughing having a good time. She decided to help us on the quest of giving Anders some love and female attention.

Street Games 20/02-06

Street game day
We were going to play streetbasket today but sebastian was an hour late so we started out creating our own streetgame in the alley with a tennisball. It developed into several different games.

And from another angle..

On the Basketball court. It looked like a ghetto court with fences all around it but looking past the fences you would see a beautiful lanscape. Lots of fun playing.

After the game Oscar decided to show us a little something he is better at than playing basket.

Oscar showing how to stand on one hand

Off course I was going to show how it would be done as well... easy...

Berkley 19/02-06

Anders Fogh project 19/02-06

We have a couple of small side-projects here in SF.
One of them is about the danish prime minister Anders Fogh. He has had a rough time lately so we decided to take him around in order to give him some love... and to show him that the world is a really great playground full of nice opportunities.

Here we see Anders in front of our hostel with one of the founders of the project

The other founders are here getting ready to help Anders in his search for good conversation.

Anders meeting the famous SF street

Anders In dialogue with the realworld

Anders meeting US

We will continue helping our prime minister in his search for good conversation and understanding and we will keep you posted here.
